Start a Fundraiser

Are you interested in serving children in need and making an impact in the community? Join other local volunteers in organizing a fundraiser for Blessings in a Backpack.
As little as $130 feeds an elementary school child in the Blessings in a Backpack program for an entire school year.

The number of children we are able to feed is limited only by the financial support we are able to secure.

Whether you are a Rotary Club, cheerleading team or swim club, local community club or church group collecting funds at your next event is easy and extremely valuable to the children in our community.

Group Packing Events

Packing events provide a fun, hands-on opportunity for employees or groups to provide hunger-free weekends for kids facing food insecurity in the Santa Maria Valley.

Join the Committee

A community based committee including concerned citizens, community leaders, schools personnel, PTO members and interested parents. The Steering Committee acts as the governing body of the Santa Maria Valley Program acting in the best interest of the children in the Community and within the realm of authority under the national Blessings in a Backpack organization.

Food Drive

Food Drives help Blessings in a Backpack in a HUGE way by reducing our food bill.  We have a menu that gives you a good idea of the type of food we buy for our kids.  We keep our cost under $3.00 per child and that's for the entire weekend.

A Mini Food Drive is a great way for your child to earn some community service hours and help us out at the same time.  Clicking on this link will take you to our Food Drive info.
