Who will feed the kids over the weekend?

We are hoping that you will choose to answer, “I will” to ensure these kids are fed over the long weekends during the school year.

As little as $4 provides a Blessings bag of food to a child facing food insecurity now and when kids return to school.

Blessings in a Backpack mobilizes communities, individuals and resources to provide food on the weekends for elementary school children across America and in the Santa Maria Valley who might otherwise go hungry.

Every school-aged child in the Santa Maria Valley has the nourishment needed to learn and grow. As a leader in the movement to end childhood hunger, Blessings strives to ensure children don't go hungry on the weekends by empowering individuals and communities to take action.

Over 9,000 children are registered on the Free and Reduced school lunch program in the Santa Maria Valley. Blessings in a Backpack sends those children home with backpacks full of nutritional food on the weekend. Most people can’t wait for the weekend. Kids at risk of hunger can’t wait for it to be over.
